If your factory Bose system has no audio with a PAC module, the amplifier turn-on circuit may be overloaded. These vehicles have 3 amps and an antenna booster. Follow these steps to fix the issue.
Applicable part numbers: GM1A-RX. FM1A-R, GM1A-RS, GM1A-RT, GM1A-RST, RP5-GM11, RP4-GM11, RP3-GM11
- Make sure this is the problem you are experiencing. Before proceeding, make sure the factory Bose amplifier works, and you have connected the Blue/White amp turn-on wire from the aftermarket radio to the PAC module.
- With the radio on, test the Blue/White amp turn-on wire between the PAC module and the vehicle harness for DC voltage. This wire will not be loose. It is the output wire from the PAC module to turn on the Bose amp. If the voltage is below 10V, proceed to the following steps. Figure A
- Cycle the key off.
- Cut the wire, but leave enough wire to work with.
- Tape off the side coming from the PAC module. It will not be used in this application.
- Connect the side heading towards the vehicle to accessory power. You can use the red wire from the PAC module.
- Cycle the key on, then test for audio. You should have audio now.
