When using the RP4.2-TY11 in a factory amplified sound system, it is designed to maintain the fader by sensing the audio level difference between the front and rear speakers. If the audio signals are not the same, this process may not function properly. Consequently, the RP4.2-TY11 will be unable to determine the appropriate action, leading to improper signals being sent to the factory amplifier. There are two main factors that can cause this issue.
- One of the speaker inputs is out of polarity. Inspect all eight speaker wires to ensure they are connected correctly. It’s quite easy to make this mistake, and it is often the cause of the problem.
- If the radio has a sound enhancement feature, it may affect the audio signal between the front and rear speakers. It is advisable to disable or reset this feature to its default settings and then check the audio again. Be aware that some radios come with multiple sound features, so each one should be disabled and re-inspected individually.
