This update tutorial is for PAC interfaces that use a Micro-B USB cable for updating. For PAC interfaces that use the older 5-pin update port follow the instructions in this link.
In this example we will be using an RP4.2-TY11 interface.
-
On a Windows PC search for RP4.2-TY11 on the PAC-Audio website. Click on the product.
-
Scroll down on the page a bit and then click on the Utility/Other tab. Download and install the app. Allow any permission that pop up during the installation.
-
Next click on the Firmware/Downloads tab. Click on the Download button to download the latest firmware to your PC’s Download folder.
-
On the home screen of your PC double click the RadioPro icon to open the app.
-
Plug in the PAC interface to your PC using a Micro-B USB cable designed for data. The interface should flash, and show “Connected” in the top left of the app. It should also populate the Product Name, Product Software version, and Product Hardware Version fields. If this doesn’t happen then the USB cable you are using is not designed for data transfer.
-
Click on the Firmware button, and then click on the Select File button. Locate the firmware you downloaded to your Downloads folder and then double click the file to start the update procedure.
-
When the app prompts “Update completed”. It is now safe to unplug the PAC interface.
Tech Tip! As an option click on the About page to ensure the Product Software Version is the current firmware you just updated the PAC interface with.
- The update process is now complete.
